Hi there! My name’s Emily Gonyer, and this is my personal blog. I blog about a lot of stuff, though lately mostly relating to free and open source software (FOSS). Over the last year I’ve become involved in the GNOME project, largely due to the GNOME Outreach Program for Women and later Google Summer of Code, having participated in both over the last year. I am a long time linux user, starting sometime in the late 1990s, though up till the last year I have only been a user and occasional bug reporter.
Aside from my work advocating for and occasionally working on free software, I am a mom to two boys, Andros & Keegan. We live in Carroll County, Ohio, USA, aka the “middle of nowhere”. We raise Kiko meat goats, and currently have 2 does (“Patches” – an American Purebred and “Louise” a 100% New Zealand) and a buck (“Stinky” – 100% New Zealand). We have had various chickens & ducks over the years, as well as horses, ponies and various reptiles & amphibians (though we currently only have my old Albino Black Rat Snake “Freckles”). I also teach Tae Kwon Do on Tuesdays & Thursdays (http://carrolltonmartialarts.wordpress.com/).
Posts are on all of the above as well as many others. I can be reached at emilyyrose AT gmail DOT com 🙂
